University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s goal is simple, to offer online degrees of unquestionable quality at an affordable price.

We can’t boast about having the most online students in the US and we’re okay with that. We focus on quality so that our graduates and the organizations that employ them can be certain of the value that the degree provides. UWP’s 150 year history is built on a foundation of educational excellence. Let us bring that excellence to you and your organization regardless of where you’re physically located.

UW-Platteville began offering extended degree programs in 1978 with its correspondence Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. With the spread of the Internet, UWP launched its first fully online program in 1999 with the Master of Science in Project Management. Shortly after, three more online degrees were offered: Master of Science in Criminal Justice, Master of Science in Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 2006, UWP moved its well-known campus-based Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice online.

Degrees Offered
UW-Platteville offers five degrees that can be completed entirely online. No campus visits are required at any time, although graduates are welcome to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Awards and Recognition
University of Wisconsin-Platteville currently holds several awards for its online degrees. GetEducated.com, which screens accredited distance degree programs, has consistently award Best Buy designations for several of UWP’s programs. A Best Buy indicates a high quality program delivered to a national audience with tuition and feels well below the national average.

In addition to the GetEducated.com awards, UWP was designated by G.I. Jobs magazine as a Military Friendly School for 2010. Only 15% of educational institutions in the US receive this honor.

UW-Platteville has also been a Global Registered Education Provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) since 2001, and each 3-credit course in our Master of Science in Project Management is equivalent to 45 professional development units (PDUs). In 2008, the Master of Science in Project Management was programmatically accredited by PMI, an honor shared by fewer than 25 institutions worldwide.
