Each semester, the University of Illinois offers more than 200 different graduate-level credit courses away from the campus at locations throughout Illinois, in surrounding states, and internationally. In addition, undergraduate credit courses are available through correspondence study.

Off-campus courses are offered in a variety of formats, including face-to-face instruction, online courses, video conferencing, CD-ROM, or through combinations of delivery systems.

The Division of Academic Outreach includes a library located within the UIUC Main Library. The division provides library support for students enrolled in off-campus degree and certificate programs. The AO library uses the resources available within the UIUC system. Material unavailable at UIUC can be obtained from ILCSO-member libraries or through interlibrary loan services.

Enrollment is open to on-campus UIUC students, off-campus University of Illinois students, high school students, students enrolled at other colleges and universities, and individuals studying on their own.
