Distance Learning Program
New York Institute of Technology's Online Campus offers students the opportunity to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree via the Internet from NYIT, consistently ranked among the nation's finest colleges and universities by major publications. Only a computer, modem, and Internet service provider are required.

NYIT's Online Campus uses a fully integrated Web application that allows text, graphics, audio, and multimedia activities. To access the Online Campus, students need a computer with a 486 or higher processor, a minimum 14.4bps modem, and a current Web browser. It is recommended that students use either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer and download the most recent version of that software before beginning online courses.

All NYIT students with a 2.5 GPA or above are eligible to take individual courses online through the Online Campus. Undergraduate courses are available in business, communication arts, computer science, economics, English, life sciences, mathematics, physics, social sciences, and speech; graduate courses are available in business administration and instructional technology.

NYIT faculty members are both academic and professional experts in their fields. The majority possess the terminal degree for their disciplines, participate in research and professional development, and serve as professional mentors to their students.

All Online Campus students have access to on-campus facilities and are assigned student e-mail accounts. The NYIT libraries offer online access to a number of academic research and professional databases in such fields as education, engineering, architecture, and medicine, as well as general educational databases, including ProQuest Direct and SIRS Knowledge Source.
